The unfolding Ukraine War that began in February of last year produced an increased global awareness that the political forces dominating the history of our times are dangerously out of touch. On 5 March 5, 1946, at Westminster College in Fulton, Churchill uttered the famous words “From Stettin in the Baltic, to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the continent,” Those words ushered in the Cold War and framed the geopolitical landscape for the fifty years that followed. Today we stand in the midst of an even greater crisis that is global and multifaceted.
